I don't like to be so nit-picky about a program that I cease to enjoy it, but the prime directive in Star Trek: The Next Generation is something on which several episodes and their outcomes are based. So when the Enterprise crew decides that it's okay to blow shit up just so that they can get rid of some parasitic life form aboard their ship, I have to take some issue with that.
